History Airport Today
1933
The order On Manning the Amur Squadron of Local Aviation is signed. First pilots start flying from the regional center to Bochkarevka (present-day Belogorsk), Ivanovka, Poyarkovo and Tambovka on the only available U-2 plane.
1935
Regular flights to Arkhara, Svobodny and Tambovka commence along with mail flights to Birobidzhan and Khabarovsk.
1955
Intensive operations get underway by new An-2 and Yak-12 planes as well as Mi-1 and Mi-4 helicopters.
1958
A decision is made to build a new airfield facility in Blagoveshchensk near the village of Ignatievo and to relocate the Amur Air Company from Svobodny to Blagoveshchensk.
1960
First passengers receive services in Blagoveshchensk airport then under construction.

1963
The airport accepts the new AN-10 turboprop passenger aircraft. Regular flights between the airport and Moscow are launched.
1965
On 18 August 1965 a new airport terminal is put into operation.

First passenger flights by Yak-40 are launched to Svobodny, Ekimchan and Chita.
1983
The runway is refurbished to receive the Tu-154 aircraft.
1991
Blagoveshchensk Civil Aviation Enterprise is established on the basis of the Blagoveshchensk united air squad.
1993
The Blagoveshchensk airport is awarded an international status.
1997
The state unitary enterprise Blagoveshchensk Airport is founded.
2004
The company is renamed as Blagoveshchensk Airport, a state unitary enterprise of the Amur region.
2006
An-140 regional jet is admitted for reception and maintenance.
2007
The reception of modern foreign-made aircraft, such as Boeing-737, -757-200; - Airbus А-319-100, А-320-200, А-321-200, is allowed.
2010
A new terminal opens to provide services for passengers of domestic airlines.

The airport starts receiving and handling the Boeing-767 aircraft.
2016
A wide-body long-range Boeing 777-200 ER is received for the first time.

An-124-100 Ruslan heavy transport aircraft is received for the first time.

2021
A concession agreement on the development of Blagoveshchensk Airport is signed between the government of Amur Region and ABS – a joint venture of Airports of Regions MC and Novaport Holding.
2022
The airport served a record number of passengers - more than 843 thousand people
